Feast Of The Lamb
Lyrics (c) by Peter Ancaster | Music by Fred McKinnell | December 1985
Recorded on: -
Recorded on: -
On the day of the final raid when the earth breathes last
For a night fallin' eternal to bury all our awful past
There'll be no place we can hide away before the storms
That rage across the land
And a flood'll come to drown all life, so in vain you'll
Look for helping hands
God-Father, please take away the wrath from our hearts and our souls
God-Father, please - I just can't endure all that violence and pain
Painful visions haunt my dreams of a world in barren stones
And in the midst of the chared earth I see ravens picking human bones
The land is a common grave and poisened is the water in the seas
And I see the serpent elevately meanders in the leafless trees
God-Father, please take away the wrath from our hearts and souls
God-Father, please - I am only a child in the might of thy storm
Shades of Abyss, path to hell, darkness, pain and tears
Evil eyes of demon's breed, breath of smell and endless fear
Oh you powers high above, please, send the holy rain
To wash away our sinful minds before we'll go down the drain
THE VOICE:
"Great and marvellous are your deeds, Lod God Almighty
Just and true are your ways oh King of Ages" [Rev. 15/3]
Another day another time on a towering mountain peak
The air is bright and chrystal clear and the dawn shed light on me
"Save us ... excuse our human pride ....bow down ... chastie us ...
We no more want to run and hide"
Still I watch that glorious sight and I feel thy divine breeze
The ears glow like a precious gem below of my feet in peace
God-Father, please take away the doom drom our rearthly remain
God-Father, please - we won't continue all that violence and pain
For a night fallin' eternal to bury all our awful past
There'll be no place we can hide away before the storms
That rage across the land
And a flood'll come to drown all life, so in vain you'll
Look for helping hands
